Artist Comments

I composed this painting from a reference photo featuring the side view of a garden cottage. Of course, that photograph had much more to show in information technology than what I present here. I idea it would be interesting to crop as much as possible out of the original photograph and create an original composition that focused just on a few elements—the window, siding, picket fence, and some flowers. I like how this turned out. I've done this technique before.  Beneath are the other paintings where I've done a tight crop.
